Assessments Page

This is where every week I will fill out questions that evaluate the quality and delivery of the weekly class topic/lab delivered by Professor Hupy.

Lab 1: Creating A blog

1.     Before this activity, how would you rank yourself in knowledge about the topic? (1-No Knowledge at all, 2-Very Little Knowledge, 3-Some knowledge, 4-A good amount of knowledge, 5-I knew all about this)

            4

2.     Following this activity, how would you rate the amount of knowledge you have on the topic (1- I don’t really know enough to talk about the topic, 2- I know enough to explain what I did, 3-I know enough to repeat what I did, 4-I know enough to teach someone else, 5- I am an expert)

            4

3.     Did the hands-on approach to this activity adds to how much you were able to learn (1-Strongly Disagree, 2-Disagree, 3-No real opinion, 4-Agree, 5-Strongly Agree)

          3

4.     What types of learning strategies would you recommend making the activity even better?

I feel that the in-person class will help a lot with the explanations and us better understand each other as the online class was difficult.

Lab 2: Digital Transformation

1.     Before this activity, how would you rank yourself in knowledge about the topic? (1-No Knowledge at all, 2-Very Little Knowledge, 3-Some knowledge, 4-A good amount of knowledge, 5-I knew all about this)

            3

4.     What types of learning strategies would you recommend making the activity even better?

There was a lot of typing and a lot of reading for basically the same information to just be reiterated. I just feel like I could have taken 1 source from each topic and linked all of them in a single paper and it would have been a more efficient use of time for the same amount of information to be retained.

Lab 3: ArcGIS Earth

1.     Before this activity, how would you rank yourself in knowledge about the topic? (1-No Knowledge at all, 2-Very Little Knowledge, 3-Some knowledge, 4-A good amount of knowledge, 5-I knew all about this)

4

4.     What types of learning strategies would you recommend making the activity even better?

I liked being on my own so that I could fly through the lab at my own pace and not have to be stuck in the lab following examples.

This lab seemed a little silly, we were just clicking through tutorials and didn't learn a whole lot, the software was pretty user friendly.

I just wish that this part and part 2 were combined into one lab and with not as much processing. it seemed like this one was just a filler lab for the next week.

Lab 8: Pix4D pt 2

1. Before this activity, how would you rank yourself in knowledge about the topic. (1-No Knowledge at all, 2-Very Little Knowledge, 3-Some knowledge, 4-A good amount of knowledge, 5-I knew all about this)

I just wish that part 1 and part 2 were combined into one lab and with not as much processing. The processing took ages for some and then others it was almost instantaneous.
